The stink about scent
These days perfume is rarely made from anything other than synthetic chemical fragrances. Face and body products, perfumes, hair products, fabric softeners, laundry and cleaning products, scented candles, air 'fresheners'...artificial synthetic chemical fragrances are everywhere.
'Scientists find growing evidence that chemicals in scents and cleaning sprays are causing cancer, headaches and harming unborn babies.'
'Research consistently suggests that around 30 per cent of the population are negatively affected by fragrance.'
Sonett only uses natural and organic essential oils for fragrance, not synthetic chemical fragrance. For sensitive people, allergy sufferers, babies and young children and pets, we recommend even use free from natural essential oils with Sonett sensitive.
Editor's note: Personally I experience no ill effects whatsoever with the subtle aromas of natural and organic essential oils, however synthetic chemical fragrance gives me an instant headache. I avoid the cleaning isle in the supermarket like the plague, I remove myself from our local cafe when the woman that drenches herself in perfume arrives for her coffee, and I hold my breath dashing through the fragrance section in department stores.
TIP: Use Baking Soda as an odour neutraliser.
Editor's musings: I often wonder about synthetic chemical fragrance and how it must be for dogs with their superior olfactory system. Dogs possess up to 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to about six million in humans.
