Our TIPS

Decalcifying fixtures, tiles and toilets

Wherever stronger calcifications occur, Sonett Decalcifier is effective. For fittings, tiles, toilets and other acid-resistant surfaces, allow to act for a few minutes, depending on the deposits, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Decalcifying coffee machines

If your coffee no longer tastes as usual or the coffee machine no longer builds up pressure properly, decalcification may help.

Put 200ml of Decalcifier and 800ml of water in the water reservoir of the coffee machine. Descale according to the machine's instructions. Afterwards run fresh water until the water is clear.

Decalcifying kettles

To remove deposits in your kettle, warm approximately 100ml of Decalcifier per 500ml water to approximately 60°C in a kettle. Leave for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse well, until clear.

Special product feature

Citric acid being of food-grade quality it is a better choice than other acids for multi-purpose descaling in kitchen and sanitary areas, thanks to its unobtrusive odour and in virtue of its gentle effect on metal and plastics in kitchen and sanitary areas.

Application where it cannot be heated

On fittings, tiles, toilets, anywhere Decalcifier cannot be heated, use undiluted, allow it to act for a few minutes, depending on the thickness of the limescale, then thoroughly rinse off with clear water.

Application where it can be heated and therefore diluted

On cookware and for decalcifying machines – where the acid can be heated and therefore is more effective.

Kettles

Add approx. 100 ml of Decalcifier to 0.5 litre of water, heat up to approx. 60 °C, allow it to act for 20–30 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly.

Coffeemakers

Fill 200 ml of Decalcifier and 800 ml of water into the water container and descale according to the manufacturer's instructions. Afterwards run fresh water until the water is clear.

Washing machine 4.5 kg

Add 1 litre of Decalcifier to the main washing cycle at 60 °C without previous loading and have the machine run one cycle. Afterwards remove the residues from the fluff sieve / filter of your washing machine.

Dishwasher

Add 1 litre of Decalcifier to the main washing cycle of the longest programme (once the pre-washing cycle is finished!) – with or without dishes. Let the programme run until the end.

Attention: Citric acid has a descaling effect. Please avoid contact with calcareous surfaces such as marble, concrete, artificial stone, limestone.
